As an integral member of our Skills Alliance Project, you will have the opportunity to work and grow your skills in this dynamic environment. As Project Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating our new mental health workforce project.

This project provides a unique opportunity to bring together and support a diverse group of stakeholders to discuss and address workforce planning and skills development within the mental health community sector.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

 Support the development of collaborative partnerships
 Research sector workforce issues and recommend strategic solutions
 Advocate systems reform to support a sustainable workforce
 Develop and help implement a sector workforce plan
 Provide advice on priorities for a sustainable community mental health workforce

Person Specifications:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to operate under limited direction when required.
• Highly developed organisational, work planning, time and project management skills
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills
• The ability to professionally represent the Workforce Council and its policies and priorities

Selection Criteria:

1. Experience in the Community Services, Health or related industries and/or experience in workforce planning
2. Demonstrated understanding of current workforce planning and skilling issues, particularly as they may relate to the mental health non-government sector
3. Highly developed project management skills
4. Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
5. Demonstrated experience in the effective facilitation of meetings with diverse stakeholders
6. Proficiency in using office computer systems including the use of Microsoft suite of programs
